Our history and mission
We are a small but handy company that specializes in selling natural cut gemstones
. Our goal is to provide our clients with the highest quality stones at reasonable prices,
so that we are able to satisfy both discerning customers and investors as well as novice collectors.
E-GEMS is primarily engaged in the trade of precious natural cut stones. We specialize mainly in stones from tropical Africa (Tanzania, Mozambique, Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, etc.) and Southeast Asia (Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia). We also try to obtain gemstones for our customers from completely new and unconventional areas (e.g. Greenland and others). At the same time, we are also intensively monitoring the situation at old, now exhausted sites to see if new material of sufficiently good quality can be faceted.
We source quality gemstones directly from mines around the world, both from owners and small-scale miners. The raw material is then processed mostly by Czech gemstone cutters. We 100% guarantee the natural origin of the stone and we also guarantee the geographical origin. The stones are not treated in any way (annealing to improve colour, clarity, irradiation, colouring, etc.) and if they are, this fact and the type of treatment is always indicated.
Because of our close association with gemology, we also offer a range of instruments and aids, including literature for gemstone identification. Because of our popularity of old jewellery, we do not forget about restorers. It is possible to find, or even order, the cutting of old Czech garnets for your antique jewellery in which they are missing. We also offer marcasite routs, diamond routs, small turquoise muggles, beads, etc. We can provide you with an expert opinion for all gemstones offered here.

Ethical mining and fair access
In many countries around the world, gemstone mining is controlled by the military or drug gangs. Mines often operate in inhumane conditions and without regard for the environment. The gemstones we offer come from small local miners, most of whom we know personally. You will not find conflict stones here. That is why we do not offer ivory, red coral or endangered animal teeth in our portfolio, although these materials are in great demand in the world. We also do not buy stones in markets where their origin cannot be verified.

Who is behind e-gems
Ing. Kamila Jungmannová
Practically all of my personal and professional life I have been devoted to stones in various forms.
Since I studied environmental protection (J. E. Purkyně University
in Ústí nad Labem), it is important to me that the stones we offer are obtained from nature
with respect not only for the environment, but also for the people who mine or further process them. My colleagues and I usually personally select the precious
stones at sites around the world.
With whom we cooperate
RNDr. Radek Hanus, Ph.D. EurGeol.
Dr. Hanus is one of the few forensic experts in the field of precious metals and stones in the Czech Republic. During his
professional life he has written a number of books on gemstones and scientific articles published
usually in foreign scientific journals (with impact factor). For almost all gemstones offered by us
, we verify their authenticity for us. His services are also regularly used
by the Assay Office and many museums not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe.
