How we take pictures

We take pictures of our precious stones using a mirror camera of the brand. Canon and several macro lenses. We use a professional photo booth complete with flashes and mirrors, so these are ideal lighting conditions, which are usually different for each gemstone. Also, the chip in a digital camera may or may not capture the colours faithfully. As a result, the stone you buy may appear to have, or not have, a certain hint of colour. This phenomenon unfortunately occurs on both sides of the spectrum of our offer, i.e. some stones are “made prettier” by digital photography while others are “made uglier”. We try not to edit the photographs (except for retouching small fibres and dust particles). In case you do not like the gemstone you bought, there is no problem to return it within 14 days. At the same time, the vast majority of our gemstones are around 1 cm in size, but the photos show stones enlarged to a size of about 5 cm or more. Any inclusion, perforation or other defect is therefore many times larger in a photograph than in a real gemstone.

The colour of the stones is described at 6.500 K and 3.500 K illumination.

The clarity of the stones is described at tenfold magnification, but the clarity does not include inclusions typical of the gemstone (e.g. “Horsetail” type inclusions in demantoid or black tourmaline needle crystal, etc.). On the other hand, clarity in these gemstones mainly includes milky haze, the presence of fluid inclusions, unaesthetic cracks, feathers and diapers, etc.). For some gemstones, inclusions are unavoidable by the nature of the stone, examples being emeralds and rubies, which simply always contain inclusions. On the other hand, the presence of inclusions is a clear indication of natural origin. If you do not like the clarity of the gemstone you have purchased, it is not a problem to return it within 14 days of purchase.
