Cuba – a beautiful island in the Caribbean, lots of sun, rum and beautiful sea. In the world of precious stones, Cuba is practically non-existent, there is no precious or decorative stone described from here. Historically, mainly Soviet geologists have worked here, followed by Bulgarians, and Czech geologists have also served several seasons here. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have not been able to get any information. So we contacted the Cuban geological service – unfortunately also without response, because the Internet is something that everyone knows exists in Cuba, but almost no one has access to it. Our only success was finding jade. We managed to cut it and are preparing an article about it for the Journal of Gemmology.
