The offered adular with very intense blue luster comes from Sakhan-gyi locality in Mogok region in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Adular is a type of feldspar (it is a solid solution of K-feldspar – orthoclase with an admixture of albite – plagioclase). The chemical formula is (K,Na)AlSi3O8. The name was introduced in 1780 by Ermenegildo Pini after a locality in the Adulagebirge Alpine mountain range (part of the Gotthard massif) in Switzerland. This offered adular (moonstone) from Burma is of exceptional quality.
