Beautiful andalusite of very rare golden yellow colour. The colour of andalusite is not due to its zonality, but to very strong pleochroism, i.e. colour changes in different optical directions. The quality of the cut is excellent; the stone comes from the Santa Tereza locality in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Andalusite as a jewellery stone is rather rarely encountered, however, the stone can be recommended for jewellery as well as for discerning collectors.
